5 ways I’m supporting local this summer ☀️
1. We love a convenient moment. Especially in summer, when the idea of cooking in a hot kitchen can make you lose your appetite. BUT It’s important to remember that apps like Uber Eats and Doordash often charge restaurants a BIG percentages of sales. Supporting your local diner is best when you’re buying straight from the source.
2. I wanna be your friend! I’m traveling around the province introducing myself to small business owners. I want to know what’s working or what’s hard about your industry so I can look for ways to help!
3. We’ve all heard the story about a business struggling because of sidewalk construction, redevelopment projects, construction blasting, or power outages. When I hear a business talking about the difficulties of keeping their doors open, I’m showing up to support them, or using my voice to tell their stories!
4. Summer is wedding season! A time to celebrate! And I want to celebrate your small business! I’m showing up at your anniversaries, opening days, and rebranding launches. You’ve worked hard on your small business, and I want to congratulate you.
5. Finally, this summer I’m trying to visit as many small craft brewers as I can in Nova Scotia. I’m traveling with a copy of my petition to the government for legislation I have on the table at the House to support local craft brewers. Many wineries and craft brewers also have wonderful non alcoholic options! You can find the petition in my Linktree 🍻
