Det'oni-T'a Tai (Three Feathers) by Richard Van Camp: Three young men have vandalized their community. There, they must learn to take responsibility for their actions and acquire the humility required to return home. But will they be forgiven for what they have done?

Lue Negha gots'eh Lue Segha (Fish for You & Fish for Me!): A child and her grandmother catch and prepare fish for a family meal

Books of the week! Full moon coming up on February 5th calls for some moon-themed books ๐ŸŒ•

Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice: With winter looming, a small northern Anishinaabe community goes dark. Cut off, people are passive and confused. Panic builds as the food supply dwindles. While the band council and community members struggle to maintain order, an unexpected visitor arrives, escaping the crumbling society to the south. Soon after, others follow.

Almost a Full Moon by Hawksley Workman: A boy and his grandmother host a gathering in their small cabin in the middle of winter. Friends travel from near and far, and some new friends even turn up. All are welcome.

Happy Family Literacy Day!
Please feel free to stop by the library today between 2:00pm-5:00pm to pick out a free book to take home. Chief Sunrise will be hosting our books and bannock program this afternoon from 2:45-3:35, so any family members that will be dropping by are welcome to come to the library before they leave to pick out a book (and sign up for a library card if you don't have one!)

Books of the week for Family Literacy Week!
Gather by Richard Van Camp: During a time of heightened isolation, this bestselling author shares what he knows about the power of storytelling--and offers some of his own favourite stories from Elders, friends, and family. Gathering around a campfire, or the dinner table, we humans have always told stories. Through them, we define our identities and shape our understanding of the world.

The Family Book - Todd Parr: Some families look alike, some families like to eat different things, and some families like to hug each other. Open this book to read about all different kinds of families!
