FCSS believes prevention is an essential strategy for community members to develop the resilience and capacity to address life's challenges and enhance their quality of life. We strive to strengthen the protective factors of individuals, families, and communities through programs, services, and partnerships which promote well-being, reduce vulnerabilities, and empowers residents to make change. r Resource Centre provides a welcoming and supportive environment for community residents where supports and services are available on a drop-in basis and/or over the phone. It is the place to go for assistance navigating government programs for adults and seniors, employment insurance, child/family benefits and other social programs. Glance at FCSS Services:

FCSS programs, such as High River’s Cycling without Age, Gathering Spaces, The Meeting Place, and Senior’s Socials are designed to help address provincial prevention priorities by meeting one or more of the following goals:
1. Promote and encourage active engagement in the community;
2. Foster a sense of belonging;
3. Promote social inclusion;
4. Develop and maintain healthy relationships;
5. Enhance access to social supports; and

June 1-5th we are Celebrating Seniors, "The Stars of our Community"! Every weekday from June 1st-5th we will be hosting FREE events to mark the 40th Anniversary of Seniors' Week!

June 1st- Coffee with Council at FCSS! Visit our back yard to chat with our Town Council.

June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, we are hosting movie classics at the Wales Theatre! We have a Western, Comedy, and Musical- call to register for 1, 2 or all 3! We will also have free pop and popcorn for the first 50 seniors! Registration required- please call 403-652-8620.

June 4th- Museum of the Highwood will be hosting a tour for seniors about the movies and shows filmed in High River!

June 5th- Flower Power, FCSS will have small vases of flowers for the community to gift to seniors! Quanities limited*

If you can't make it during our usual tax program hours of 9am-3:30 this is a great opportunity to stop in and drop off your taxes!

For FREE, we help complete simple taxes for low-income individuals and families in our region to help ensure they get the government benefits they qualify for. This program is made possible through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program!
