Hillsborough Community Playground Fund

WE DID IT!!!!

We searched all night for the perfect words to express the excitement we had yesterday making this announcement, with that being said we feel Charlie said it best so we will post his words!

“I'm proud to say that we were able to raise over $4000 for the Hillsborough Community Playground Fund, making us one of the top contributors. ✨Hillsborough Elementary principal, Stephanie Prosser, was there for the wonderful announcement made by Amanda Milton, letting everyone know that local fundraising, along with the grant the playground committee has been awarded, has paid off and the playground construction can finally begin!✨
When the 4 Wheeler draw was down to the last 6 people, they all took a cash buy out and the bike will be sold.
We were also able to raise some funds yesterday to help with our ongoing Christmas project, where we provide a little boost for families in the heart of Albert County who might be struggling with keeping up with this demanding season. We helped out close to 10 families last year and we hope to double that for this coming Christmas.
Also, a big shout out to a member of the Red Devils MC, who won the 50/50 draw and donated it all back to our fundraising.
Thanks to the various motorcycle clubs, and all of our friends and community members who came out to support this event; you people Rock!!!
Thanks to all of you! From Bacchus MC Albert County”

Let me tell you a story about a wonderful day at Hillsborough Elementary School. 💛🖤

It started with rain clouds overhead, but that didn’t stop the fun. Families arrived, volunteers jumped into action, and before long our school grounds were filled with laughter.

There were bouncy castles to bounce in, a maze to explore, games to play, prizes to win, even animals waiting to be cuddled . The smell of popcorn and cotton candy filled the air while families enjoyed concessions, the cake walk, and everything Fun Fest had to offer.

And then there were the teachers.

The same teachers who support our students every day stepped into a dunk tank in the cold rain with smiles on their faces. Watching children line up for the chance to dunk their favourite teacher was one of the highlights of the day and brought so much laughter to everyone around.

Behind every activity, every smile, and every memory was an incredible team of volunteers, donors, staff, and community supporters. We are so grateful for everyone who baked, donated, worked a booth, sold tickets, set up, cleaned up, or simply came out to support our school.

A special thank you to Miss Prosser, Par-T-Perfect, and the Hillsborough Kiwanis Club. Your support helped make this day such a success.

As the day came to an end, children went home with candy, some even left with animals, and of course, wonderful memories. We’re still counting our final totals, but we already know that Fun Fest has brought us one step closer to our playground goal.

So that’s the story of a rainy day that turned into something pretty special.

Thank you, Hillsborough, for helping us write it. 💙
