Yesterday evening a warm, welcoming light lit up the window, and joyous laughter spilled into the street through the open door as the library was fairly abuzz with one thing:
Community.
Brought together by the joy of books, reading, or simply another moment of camaraderie and connection, it was another hugely successful gathering of Roasted Readers Book Club.
An enormous thank you to Pak Wong for choosing Hughenden Public Library and our book club as your test subjects for your pilot presentation. It was immensely enjoyable, and many of us agreed—we could have listened to your storytelling all night!
Last night was extra special as we celebrated Bree's birthday with a fun used-book exchange. Each attendee also received a surprise book to take home, courtesy of Bree and me.

Readers: thank you for continuing to show up, book in hand (or not!), to our unusual little book club. Where there are no rules. Heck, we don't even care if you read the book!
Just come as you are. Bring your stories. Bring your laughter. And, if you happen to have read the book...well, that's a bonus. Thanks for making the rest of us look bad. 😉 (Kidding of course)
