Help settle a mystery for us! Some UKG's! (Unidentified Kitchen Gadgets)

A few kitchen gadgets were recently donated to the Community Meals kitchen, and while we're pretty sure they belong there... we're not entirely sure what they actually do! ⁉

Before you reach for Google, take a look at the photos and tell us: do you honestly know what these are? Have you ever used one? What was it for?

Wrong answers are welcome too. In fact, they might be even more entertaining. We'll reveal the answers in a few days...

Let's see who the real kitchen experts are!

UPDATE:
1. Boj Olaneta Pincer Can Opener
2. a "Jaws" brand heavy-duty nutcracker, also known for cracking lobster and crab shells.
3. & 4. The two toddler utensils are vintage, silver-plated child's spoon & food pusher produced by Berndorf Krupp of Austria. The handle features a raised relief depiction of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. It is part of a "Grimm Fairy Tale" cutlery series manufactured for children.

We’re excited to share that the North Grenville Community Meals Association has entered the McDougall Community Contest! 🥳🎥🏅

Since January 2026, we’ve been bringing people together through free weekly community meals that help reduce food insecurity and social isolation in our community.

We would be so grateful for your support by voting for our video and helping us spread the word. Every vote helps us continue providing welcoming meals, meaningful connections, and support for our neighbours.

Voting takes place daily from May 23–31, and each person can VOTE ONCE PER DAY, so we encourage everyone to come back and vote again each day if they’re able!
