It is with heavy hearts, KTMFD crews members mourn the loss of one of our previous fire chiefs, Erle "Coke" Hartwell.
Coke was a pillar of the community and brought that to our fire department. With 40 years on our department, spending 30 of those as many of our fire chief. Coke spent countless hours working with firefighters to help further training and community awareness, also acting as secratery/treasurer of MB association of fire chiefs.
Sir, it was an honor to serve with you.
Rest easy Chief, we got it from here.

Thanks to Ingrid Stein and Curtis Nichol for blocking the street before fire crews arrived to ensure safety to unaware oncoming motorists.

Also thanks to Manitoba Hydro for a super fast response and a quick cleanup of the power line to ensure everyone's safety and resume traffic flow on the street.

We will be auctioning it off May 16/2026 at the Ripping Roaring bull riding event held at 7pm at the Killarney Shamrock Center.
