The process of changing your name and/or gender marker may feel like a daunting task. Once again, GAAP will be hosting an ID change clinic with the goal of making this process as simple as possible.

Join us on March 21st from 4-6pm at Trellis, located on 844 Princess Street, to receive support and necessary resources in order to begin this process.

The GAAP QTBIPOC bursary is now open to applicants! It will open for a limited period of time today (7/5), tomorrow (7/6), & Sunday (7/7) - read below for more details and to access the link!

The Gender Affirming Assistance Project (GAAP) is working to provide a bursary for racialized individuals from the q***r and gender diverse Kingston, ON/Katarokwi community.

THIS IS A NEEDS-BASED BURSARY. WE WILL BE PRIORITIZING FOLKS WHO HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE BURSARY BEFORE. The purpose of the bursary is to help q***r, trans, Two-Spirit, non-binary, gender diverse, Black, Indigenous, people of colour (QTBIPOC) community members who are experiencing financial distress to access resources they need at this time.

This fund has a finite limit. It will be open in 3 rounds on Friday, July 5th; Saturday, July 6th; and Sunday, July 7th. This form will open at 12 pm each day and close once we reach the daily fund limit for the day. We will share an update via Instagram and Facebook stories when it has closed for the day. YOU ARE ONLY ELIGIBLE FOR ONE BURSARY DISBURSEMENT - DO NOT APPLY FOR MULTIPLE ROUNDS/DAYS.

We will e-transfer the amount within 72 hours of submission. The answer to the e-transfer question is "gender" all lower-case. You will receive an e-transfer from YI MAO. If you require an urgent e-transfer or if e-transfer is not accessible, please note that below in the "Optional Information" section and we will arrange accordingly.

This is a needs-based bursary. The purpose of the bursary is to help q***r, trans, Two-Spirit, non-binary, gender diverse, Black, Indigenous, people of colour (QTBIPOC) community members who are experiencing financial distress to access the resources they need at this time.

Image 3 - This bursary has a finite limit and is disbursed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The bursary will continue to disburse funds until the it is depleted and will re-open in spring 2024 for another round.

After submission, you will receive an e-transfer from YI MAO within 2 weeks. If you require an urgent e-transfer or if e-transfer is not accessible, please note that below in the "Optional Information" section of the bursary form and we can arrange accordingly.

GAAP is seeking volunteer to assist in funding, graphics/social media marketing, creating socials, and more!

We are prioritizing hiring BIPOC volunteers who identify as Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, gender diverse or LGBTQIA+ so the project can remain a majority “by and for” program. All volunteers will also be involved with planning and supporting GAAP events such as clothing swaps and social events!!

To apply, fill out the application form. Interview questions, times, and Zoom links will be emailed October 11th. Interviews will take place over Zoom shortly thereafter!

This event will be held at 844 Princess Street from 5-7pm. To get to the room, go through the black door that is called Jeanie’s Place, right next to the TRELLIS front door.
