What are you growing this year? We're still starting seeds, and will keep planting all the way through June to keep a steady succession of plants ready to harvest through the season.

Victory gardens arose during WWI and WWII when US citizens faced rationing and food shortages. This small garden plan appeared in the 1943 "ABC of Victory Gardens" pamphlet.

If you see something that looks like rhubarb in your yard, and you know you didn't plant rhubarb, it might be burdock! Burdock root - aka potato stick - can be sliced thin and deep fried to make the best chips ever, or cubed and put into stews, or dried for an anti-inflammatory tea.
