The Township of McKellar, and surrounding townships have posted the Fire
Danger Rating at MODERATE. This means that normal burning rules apply. 1 meter by 1 meter campfires for the purpose of cooking will now be permitted any time of day (in low, moderate, and high ratings). Supervised burning, and recreational campfires are available between 6 pm and 10 am the next day (7 days a week). Debris permits for daytime burning can be applied for provided you contact the Fire Chief ahead of time and follow the safety, size and extinguishment rules available in the open air burning bylaw posted .ca . (Please note, Daytime / Debris burning permits are not always available)

A friendly reminder to residents and visitors that fireworks may only be discharged on the dates and during the times permitted under the Township's Fireworks By-law.
With the Township currently under a High Fire Rating, fireworks, and the sale of fireworks, are prohibited until the fire rating returns to Moderate or Low, regardless of whether the date would otherwise permit their use.

Danger Rating at HIGH. This means that normal burning rules apply. 1 meter by 1 meter campfires for the purpose of cooking will be permitted any time of day (in low, moderate, and high ratings). Supervised recreational campfires are available between 6 pm and 10 am the next day (7 days a week). Debris fires are not permitted, permits are not available. The sale and use of fireworks is not permitted. Concerns about inappropriate burning can be reported to the ByLaw Officer at (705)787-5779
