📢 Public Notice: Emergency Siren Testing Today

Town of Miami and surrounding area please be advised that emergency siren testing will take place today around noon originating from the Municipal Office.

🚨 During this scheduled test, you may hear the emergency warning siren sound briefly. This is only a test of the system to ensure it is functioning properly.

No action is required from the public.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to maintain reliable emergency notification systems.

Public Works will be flushing sewers as part of regular annual maintenance starting today, May 26th.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, street sweeping was not able to be completed as scheduled for May 24th.

Please be advised that the new date is Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation while this work is being completed.

To help ensure the streets can be cleaned efficiently and safely, we kindly ask that residents please move vehicles off the streets during this time whenever possible.

The RM of Thompson is currently gathering information related to damages caused by the recent windstorm event in order to prepare a Community Impact Statement for potential disaster assistance and infrastructure recovery efforts.

We are asking all residents, agricultural producers, businesses, and organizations to report any storm-related damages — especially issues involving:

- Ditches filled with dirt or debris
- Damaged or blocked drains
- Culvert damage
- Drainage system failures
- Roadside washouts or erosion
- Infrastructure impacts affecting access or critical services

Please report any known damages to the Municipal Office or directly to your local Councillor as soon as possible.
