Clarkson GO is changing — but are we ready for what’s coming?

Plans for intensification around Clarkson GO could bring 2,400+ new homes and buildings as high as 45 storeys to our community.

Growth around transit makes sense — but we also need to ask some important questions: What will this mean for traffic, infrastructure, transit, parking, green space and the character of Ward 2?

As a Ward 2 resident and community advocate, I believe residents deserve to be informed, heard and included in these decisions.

Ward 2 has an air-quality problem. And now we’re planning for even more intensification around Clarkson GO.

The Province has pushed for major growth around GO stations — including a proposed Clarkson development with 7 apartment buildings, ranging from 25 to 45 storeys and more than 2,400 residential units.

So here’s the question:

How do we add this much density while protecting the health, safety and quality of life of the people who already live here?

Growth is coming. Should we be asking tougher questions about air quality, traffic, infrastructure and the cumulative impact on our community before we build?

BEFORE WE BUILD🌇 UP, LET’S MAKE SURE WE CAN KEEP UP⬆️.

Ward 2 is facing major development that will reshape our community for decades to come. For example:
Clarkson Go Development
-Sheridan Centre Development
-900 Lakeshore
-Sheridan Park Drive
-Elmcrest (Chalkwell Close) School Development
-Southdown Industrial District Development

I support responsible growth. But growth without adequate infrastructure and consultation is not responsible planning.
Before approving more developments and thousands of additional residents, we need answers!

Can our roads handle the traffic?
Do we have enough schools, parks and community services?
Can our transit system keep up?
And most importantly—are RESIDENTS being heard?
What will happen to our existing neighbourhoods and the unique character of Ward 2?

Ward 2 deserves development that works for the people who already live here as well as those who will call it home.
We don't need to stop growth. We need to get growth right.

For more than 25 years, I’ve called Ward 2 home — and I’ve spent those years standing up for our community.

As Chair of MIRANET and President of the Meadow Wood Rattray Residents Association, I’ve had the privilege of advocating for our community on issues including responsible development, property taxes, environmental health, transportation, safety and neighbourhood stability.

I’ve advocated for our schools and students, received the 10 year award from the Peel District School Board, served on community advisory panels, supported the Museums of Mississauga and been honoured with a City of Mississauga Civic Award of Recognition by former mayor Hazel McCallion.
