JOB READINESS PROGRAM - COMPLETED!

Congratulations to all participants who successfully completed the Job Readiness Program, delivered in partnership with BGC Moncton and The Mandate Development Centre (TMDC) The Mandate Development Centre

Over the course of the program, participants had the opportunity to strengthen practical employment skills, build confidence, connect with resources, and prepare for their next steps in the workforce.

We are proud of the commitment, participation, and growth demonstrated throughout the program.

And this is only the beginning.

Participants are encouraged to stay connected through the TMDC Community and Moncton Creates network for future programs, events, volunteer opportunities, entrepreneurship support, resources, and community connections.

We are accepting donations of backpacks, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, lunch bags, reusable water bottles, pencil cases, school supplies, new children’s clothing, gift cards, and financial contributions.

YOUR SKILL CAN MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY.

As part of The Helping Hand Project Community BBQ, we’re creating a special Makeover & Wellness Booth where community members can receive complimentary personal-care and creative services in an atmosphere of dignity, kindness and connection.

We’re looking for skilled volunteers, including:

Barbers • Hairstylists/Hairdressers • Braiders • Makeup Artists • Face Painters • Nail Technicians • Beauty & Grooming Professionals

Whether you can serve one person or twenty, your time and talent can help someone walk away feeling seen, refreshed and valued.

Sometimes a little care can restore confidence, create connection and remind someone that they matter.

Businesses, salons, barber shops and beauty teams are also invited to adopt the booth, provide professionals, donate supplies, or sponsor the experience.

The Helping Hand Project was built on a simple belief:

Everyone deserves to be seen.
Everyone deserves dignity.
And everyone deserves a helping hand when life gets difficult.

But what exactly is The Helping Hand Project? Who do we support? Is the support free? Where do the resources come from? And most importantly, how can YOU get involved?

We’ve answered the questions people ask us most in this carousel.

What began as community outreach is growing into something bigger: a community support ecosystem connecting people with clothing, food, resources, opportunities, organizations, and pathways toward greater stability.

And we cannot build it alone.

APPLICATIONS ARE STILL OPEN!

If you’re a newcomer youth in Greater Moncton looking to build your confidence, strengthen your employability skills, and prepare for the Canadian workplace, there is still time to register.

The Job Readiness Program for Newcomer Youth, delivered by BGC Moncton in partnership with The Mandate Development Centre (TMDC), provides practical support to help young newcomers take their next step toward employment and career development.

Open to eligible newcomer youth ages 14 - 30, the program includes job-readiness workshops, résumé and interview preparation, workplace and career development skills, transportation support based on participant needs, a fully funded field trip, and a Certificate of Completion for participants who attend at least 80% of the program.

Participation is completely FREE, but spaces are limited.
