💧Bulk Water Station Update💧

Please continue essential use only.

We want to thank our water users for your continued patience and understanding as the Caron/Mortlach Public Utility Board (PUB) works through the ongoing repairs affecting our waterline.

The PUB is currently experiencing delays in receiving the new motors and pressure transducer needed to complete the repairs. They have been advised that the estimated delivery time is 1–2 weeks, although we are hopeful the parts arrive sooner. We understand this is not an ideal situation and sincerely appreciate everyone's patience.

The PUB assures us that the manpower is in place and ready to complete the repairs as soon as the parts are received. They are working to get the station restored as quickly and safely as possible.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

⚠️ BULK WATER NOTICE ⚠️

We have been advised of an issue at the pump station that is affecting the water line supplying our bulk water station.

As a result, water pressure may be lower than normal today and throughout the weekend.

We are asking ratepayers to please limit bulk water fills where possible over the weekend to help reduce strain on the line.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

⚠️Strychnine Supply Update⚠️

☠ We want to provide our ratepayers with an update on the availability of 2% Liquid Strychnine Concentrate.

Our supplier has advised that ongoing difficulties getting the raw material out of India are causing significant delays. Rising energy costs, extreme weather, and other challenges in the region have limited the number of shipments leaving the country.

At this time, it appears the September 1st application window will not be met.

There is currently only one supplier of the strychnine raw material, and the current supply situation has affected availability across the program. We are continuing to work with our supplier and will provide updates as soon as we have confirmed information on incoming shipments.

The supplier is now working to secure raw material for later this year, with the goal of having product available during the winter months for locations with storage facilities and being prepared for the spring application period of March 1 – June 15.
We recognize the uncertainty this creates for ratepayers and appreciate everyone’s patience as the supply situation works its way through the system.

We will share further information as it becomes available.

📬 2026 Property Tax Notices Have Been Sent!

The RM of Wheatlands No. 163 - 2026 property tax notices have now been mailed.

Municipal and SMHI (Hail) discounts are available if paid by:
• September 30 – 5%
• October 31 – 4%
• November 30 – 2%

Please note: School division taxes are not eligible for a discount.

Outstanding accounts as of January 1, 2027, will be subject to 1.876% interest per month on the outstanding balance.

We accept payment by cash, cheque, debit or e-transfer. If you have not received your tax notice by next week, please contact the RM office.
