June is officially here at Dwight Branch... our duck eggs have hatched into FIVE fluffy and friendly ducklings! These cute little farm ducks are here until the weekend, then they return to their mom at a local farm! If you are coming by on Saturday, aim to stay to make Paper Hearts at 11 am! Please RSVP to the craft so we have enough supplies prepared! Saturday Crafts for Kids are always free. For more information reach out to [email protected] / 705 635 3319!

Last week at Watercolour for Beginners, our artists used several watercolour techniques to create Abstract Eyes and Faces. There were so many successful outcomes, and several brand new artists joined our workshop group. You don't need to have attended past Watercolour for Beginners workshops to jump in and join our events. In June we will be create a Bookmark Triptych (3 bookmarks). Please RSVP to be part of this event, we have limited spots. All materials are supplied for the fee of $5.

Our June Watercolour for Beginners will bring together all the techniques we have worked on throughout the winter. This session is at 10:30 - noon, on Wednesday, June 17 at Dwight Branch. The fee is $5 and all supplies are provided. Bring a lunch or a snack in case you want to stay and work a little longer. No experience necessary!

This week we had a new set of artists join us at our repeat workshop of Learn to Lino. Lino printing is one printmaking technique that can be done with simple tools at home. We start small in this workshop, and learn the whole process of printing from linoleum in an hour and a half. Stay tuned for more Learn to Lino workshops this summer. We currently have a dedicated group of linoleum print artists who meet twice monthly to learn more in depth printing techniques. Their final works will be on show at Dwight Branch at the end of June and we will have printed bookmarks to purchase as donations to our library programming.
