BREAKING -

CBC has reported on the lawsuit filed by the Chief and Council of The Key First Nation against Councillors Sidney and Kimberley Keshane. The Key First Nation's Chief and Council will not stand idly by and allow corruption to take root here. We will work to ensure we recoup the money lost for our nation and all of our members.

Allegations in the Statement of Claim include:

• Thousands of dollars in e-transfers to Sidney Keshane from companies connected to business with the Key First Nation, including e-transfers from the two farmers who spoke with ChiefKey.

• 228 e-transfers between Sidney Keshane and another family member named in the lawsuit.

• 56 transactions between Sidney Keshane and Kimberly Keshane.

• Cheques from the Key First Nation that were "double deposited" resulting in double payment, such as the same cheque being deposited using a phone app and then again in person.

• Money from a Key First Nation trust account deposited into Sidney Keshane's account without any lawful explanation.

Although the forensic investigation is ongoing, I've already seen some disturbing findings.

I've learned that Councillor Kimberly Keshane signed off on a $10,000 cheque for Councillor Sid Keshane - money that came out of the Pelly Haylands Trust.

Kim knew this was wrong and did it anyway (see the text in the comments).

I was hopeful the stories I was told were untrue; however, there is no question that this kills whatever trust was remaining.

The full results of the forensic investigation will be made public at a future date, but I wanted to provide members with an example of the things we are seeing.

In an effort to live up to my promise to you, I want to tell the people of our nation that we have commenced a forensic audit into our nation's finances to provide the transparency and accountability our rogue councillors refuse to give you.

I will share more information with you as it becomes available.

Since I was reaffirmed as the Chief of Key First Nation by the federal court, I have learned lots about what council has been up to.

I wrote emails to the federal government to get a status update on both cows & plows and our land claims. It turns out that a number of rogue councillors were caught trying to negotiate on your behalf without authorization.

As a result, Canada has said they will not action any BCR that is not signed by all members of council or signed by at least four councillors with evidence that proper notice has been provided.

As you can guess, neither of those things has happened.

This means that ALL negotiations with Canada (including cows & plows and land claims) are frozen. This means you have to wait longer for the money you are entitled to.

These rogue councillors have not been transparent with you, so it is my duty to share with you what has happened.

In addition, I've been pushed out of accessing our banking information so I have no way to see how your money is being spent.

I've begun a forensic audit into our nation's spending to ensure your money is being spent appropriately, especially with the rumours shared with me on missing money and misspending.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.
