Just our girl Moka, reporting for duty! 🐾

Serving up paws, licks, and a little encouragement to anyone making their way through a challenging week. ❤️

Our girl Moka was so happy to show support for our athletes today!

A big thank you to the North Bay Police Service for including Moka in today’s launch of the “Draft an Athlete” fundraiser at the new WFCU Place Community Recreation Centre. The fundraiser supports the 2027 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Winter Games, proudly hosted by the North Bay Police Service right here in North Bay.

Moka is proud to cheer on our athletes and be part of a community that supports them every step of the way!

❤️

A very heartfelt thank you to Chat4Chad for their generous donation to our Trauma Support Dog Program, which is entirely funded through donations.

Chat4Chad was created in memory of longtime North Bay firefighter Chad Ringler, with a mission to raise awareness, provide resources and funding, and help remove the stigma surrounding mental health. Their work in our community also includes an important focus on the well-being of first responders.

This makes their support of Moka’s work especially meaningful. Moka’s role extends beyond supporting victims—she is also there for the first responders we work alongside, bringing a little comfort during and after incredibly difficult calls.

Let’s show off a special girl for National Dog Day

We are celebrating our furry friends today, but it’s also a chance to recognize the important roles dogs can play in our communities.

K9 Moka has a very important job.

Moka is a fully certified Standard Poodle and Trauma Support K9, trained and placed by the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. Alongside her certified handler, she works with Victim Services of Nipissing District and the North Bay Police Service to provide comfort and emotional support to people impacted by crime and tragedy.

From the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre and North Bay Courthouse to community events, Moka helps children, youth, families and individuals feel supported.

Moka also provides emotional support to first responders and helps build positive connections in our community.

The Support Dog Program is funded entirely through donations and community support, helping provide for Moka’s food, veterinary care, grooming and other essential needs.

So... let's give a huge round of "a-paws" (...had to lol) to our girl Moka🐾
