Presented by Creative Industries North Bay, and Downtown North Bay & Waterfront. North Bay’s Downtown Gallery Hop is an event that brings culture and excitement to our community. Local galleries, artists, art lovers and businesses come together to provide special nights for our community to experience all the art downtown North Bay has to offer. Downtown arts venues have receptions, events and pro

motions, all of which are open to the general public! The Downtown Gallery Hop is organized by a committee of volunteers who hold regular free events in North Bay's downtown core.

The WKP Kennedy Gallery is currently undergoing renovations BUT they're having a special pop-up just for you tomorrow 😎

Then & Now, a pop-up exhibition curated by Hannah Fournier-Kast, takes a look back through the years, reflecting on the monumental moments, memories, and transformations that have shaped the WKP. Through a selection of works, images, and stories, the exhibition traces how the gallery has evolved, revealing the ways its spaces, exhibitions, and communities have changed alongside one another.

As they look towards the major gallery renovations planned for 2026, this pop-up display offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on where we have been, where we are now, and what might come next.

Planned for outdoors, but may move inside to the lobby of the Capitol Centre if there is rain!

The North Bay Museum will be open late for Downtown Gallery Hop on Friday! They currently have two awesome exhibitions on display. “People of the Watershed: Photographs by John Macfie is a multilingual photo exhibit offering an intimate portrait of life in Indigenous communities of the Hudson’s Bay watershed, using photos by John Macfie during his work in Northern Ontario in the 1950s and 60s. The peoples and places of Attawapiskat, Sandy Lake, and other watershed communities are seen in photos organised and circulated by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Kleinburg, Ontario, and curated by nîpisîhkopâwiyiniw (Willow Cree) cultural advocate, and curator, Paul Seesequasis."

Also on display is “An Educator’s Passion” curated by Dr. Kurt Clause, featuring 100-year-old photographs and equipment used by Harry Ricker, a naturalist and teacher at the historic North Bay Normal School, a precursor to what eventually became Nipissing University. The exhibit also brings focus to the ancestors of local birds, posed in action by Chief Ernest Couchie, the first known Nbisiing taxidermist.
