There's a preview of The Paddle Project 2026 happening at White Water Gallery tomorrow during the hop! They are giving you a special sneak peek of the artist-created paddles made especially for their big fundraising gala, The Paddle Project 2026 on March 28th.

This project brings together 100 local and regional artists, each transforming canoe paddles into original works of art; part sculpture, part painting, part Northern storytelling. The result is the transformation of canoe paddles, objects designed to explore water, into works that explore form, surface, and meaning. Each piece reflects Northern Ontario’s relationship to place, movement, and making 🛶

Your next stop on the hop is the North Bay Museum! They've got an amazing exhibition upstairs from Michael Dobson titled Wind, Water & Wilderness.

This body of work celebrates places in Northern Ontario where the artist has lived and painted. They range from Muskoka to Georgian Bay and Temiskaming Shores, and further north from Thunder Bay to Webequie. The artist chose to revisit and paint these places because they are unforgettable. Their windswept pines, basalt rock cliffs, black spruce forests, granite outcrops, and mineral-laced rivers draw him back again and again. He feels fortunate to live and work within such a stunning, vast and varied landscape.

Michael Dobson will also be speaking on Friday at the museum!
