Good news for our farmers!

Alberta is restoring farmers’ property rights and cutting red tape.

Farmers will be able to carry out routine agriculture activities involving non-permanent wetlands on their own land without government approval.

They will also be able to manage excess subsurface water through a clear code of practice for tile drainage, replacing a lengthy approval process and helping improve growing conditions.

Together, these reforms mean fewer unnecessary approvals, lower costs, and less time waiting for government decisions.

Students and families can expect even more support this school year. We have funded the hiring of more than 2,000 teachers, significantly exceeding the commitment we made under Bill 2 last year to help ensure students get the support they need to succeed.
