OLCN puts AFN on notice: No authority. No consent.

Onion Lake Cree Nation has issued a cease and desist letter demanding that AFN refrain from speaking, negotiating or consenting on our behalf at the October 26 First Nations–First Ministers’ Meeting.

OLCN is an independent Treaty 6 Nation. Our people voted to withdraw from AFN, and that decision must be respected. No meeting outcome, declaration or agreement may be presented as binding OLCN or carrying our consent.

We will defend our Treaty relationship, inherent and constitutional rights, lands and waters for our people and future generations, including pursuing legal remedies where necessary.
