United in grief, remembrance and respect, we stood side by side, resolute as the storm moved through, to honour our fallen hero, OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali.

The ceremony reflected not only profound loss, but the strength and pride of his family, and the unity of our policing community and partners. Together, we honour a life of dedication and carry forward a legacy that will endure in the work we do and the values we uphold.

The OPP will host a police funeral for OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali at the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre (MSEC) on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Additional details below (all timing approximate and subject to change):

8:30 a.m.: Procession from funeral home in Thornhill to the MSEC. The route will travel westbound Highway 407 from Yonge Street, exit at Dixie Road, then proceed south to Matheson Boulevard East, west to Rose Cherry Place and to MSEC. Members of the public who wish to pay their respects may join first responders on overpasses along the route. Please do not stop on the highway.

8:45 a.m.: OPP members and other attending services will march from Matheson Boulevard East, north on Rose Cherry Place toward MSEC. The public may observe from Matheson Boulevard East; MSEC property and Rose Cherry Place will not be accessible to public.

10:30 a.m.: Funeral service. Please note that the service is not open to the general public.

Road closures will begin at 6:00 a.m. and remain in place for the duration of the service:
• Rose Cherry Place from Coopers Avenue to Matheson Boulevard East
• Intermittent closures of Matheson Boulevard East at Rose Cherry Place

As our communities continue to grieve, a moment of honour unfolded overhead at the Barrie Airshow yesterday. In a powerful and moving act of remembrance, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds paid tribute with a flyover in honour of OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali and Toronto Police Service Emergency Task Force Constable Marc Pinizzotto.

We are deeply grateful for this meaningful gesture which offered reflection, unity and remembrance during an incredibly difficult time.

A police funeral service for OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre.

The funeral service will be attended by Provincial Constable Bali’s family and guests, members of the OPP, police and emergency services, military and dignitary officials. While the visitation and funeral service will not be open to the general public to attend, there will be a designated location for viewing the funeral cortege es**rt in person, as well as opportunities to watch the funeral service livestreamed on the OPP’s YouTube page.

For anyone who wishes to send flowers, they can be sent to Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario.

Further details will be shared closer to the service date.

A procession es**rting OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali will depart from the Forensic Sciences and Coroner’s Complex (FSCC) on Friday, June 12, at approximately 10:00 a.m.

The procession will travel westbound on Highway 401 from Keele Street, continue northbound on Highway 400, then proceed eastbound on Highway 407, exiting at Yonge Street in Thornhill.

Those wishing to pay their respects may gather alongside first responders on overpasses along the route. For everyone’s safety, avoid obstructing traffic or stopping on the highway. The OPP respectfully requests that participation in the procession be limited to authorized personnel and approved vehicles.
