On behalf of OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique
-
I extend our deepest condolences to Toronto Police Service on the loss of Constable Marc Pinizzotto.

This is a devastating time for the policing community, with two line of duty deaths in such short succession. Our grief is compounded as we continue to mourn the loss of our own OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali. As colleagues in law enforcement and as individuals united by a shared commitment to serve and protect, we understand all too well the impact of such a tragic loss. Our thoughts are with our partners at the Toronto Police Service, loved ones and all who are affected during this profoundly difficult time.

Today, we mourn the loss of Constable Marc Pinizzotto.

“No words can capture the impact on Marc’s family, who expected him to come home today. We as a Service will support them and each other,” Chief Myron Demkiw said. “This loss will have a profound impact on the Toronto Police Family. Our Service, our members, and all members of the larger policing family are deeply saddened.”
