Municipal Support services had received a call from the Ontario Provincial Police On September 28th 2026 advising that a citizen had secured a "goat" The "goat" had been on the lamb on Hwy 10 in the Township of Chatsworth. The "goat." An Ontario Provincial Officer attended and then reached out to Municipal Support Services to assist. An Animal Control officer was dispatched to pick up the "goat" Upon arrival it was discovered that the "goat" was a Jacob Sheep.

The Township of Chatsworth and Municipal Support Services enacted the Pounds Act R.S.O 1990 and impounded the stray Jacob Sheep and transported him to a livestock holding facility where he was ear tagged as required by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)

Under the Pounds Act, Livestock at large shall be impounded and held under the legislation, all attempts to find the producer of the livestock shall be attempted. The animal was advertised as prescribed. No leads or owner came forward. The Jacob Sheep now known as Harry was assessed by a Veterinarian as he was displaying some health concerns. Harry was provided with some medication and immediately started feeling better.

While Harry was being held it was discovered that he was quite friendly and tame. This lead to conversations with the Township of Chatsworth on possibilities of options for him. the Township requested to reach out to the Bluewater School Board to see if they would be willing to accept Harry has a donation for education in the Agriculture Program. Municipal Support Services reached out and are pleased to announce that Harry the Jacob Sheep has been donated to the BWDSB Agriculture SHSM Program.

Harry has met his new roommate " Chuck" and although separated to observe a quarantine period they can see each other and appear to be enjoying each others company.

Not everyday is puppies and kittens in Animal Control.

❗️Lost Dog❗️

On May 12, 2026, animal control collected a friendly dog on Highway 89 in the Township. The below information was obtained by animal control services.

•Intact adult male
•Very friendly and loves people
•No dog tag or Mircochip

If you recognize this sweet boy, please contact animal control services at 226-910-1322 to arrange collection.

The dog will be held for three business days in accordance with Canine Control By-Law 2024-078 as amended. The dog will be moved to a adoption facility after the mandatory three-day holding period.

Municipal Support Services Inc. (“MSS”) is aware of the recent incident that occurred in a neighboring Ontario municipality and the significant public discussion surrounding the matter online.

First and foremost, incidents involving animals can be highly emotional for communities, and we recognize the concern many individuals have expressed regarding the situation.

However, MSS wishes to clarify that our organization had no involvement in the incident being referenced and was not connected to the matter in any investigative, enforcement, or operational capacity.

Despite this, MSS and members of our staff have recently been subjected to online attacks, misinformation, and public commentary incorrectly associating our organization with events entirely outside of our involvement. We respectfully ask that members of the public ensure information shared online is accurate before drawing conclusions involving individuals, municipalities, or organizations.

ATTENTION TOWN OF MONO!

Female husky, great pyr, shepherd mix. She is approximately 2-4 years old. She also has front and rear dewclaws. Found on Third Line EHS Town Of Mono.

She was found with no collar, no microchip, and no identification.

2nd dog, male Husky/ great Pyrenees cross. No ID, No collar / chip.

Dogs are suspected to have been running together.
