📢 Request for Proposals Now Open!

The Town of Lanark Highlands, in partnership with Drummond/North Elmsley Township, Tay Valley Township, and the Town of Perth, is pleased to announce the release of our Regional Recreation Centre Feasibility Study Request for Proposals.

This exciting project will explore the future of recreation services across our region, including community needs, potential locations, governance models, funding opportunities, and long-term sustainability. Together, we are taking an important step toward understanding how a regional facility could best serve our residents for generations to come.

We are seeking qualified consulting firms with demonstrated experience in recreation planning, feasibility studies, community engagement, and municipal partnerships to help guide this important work.

We look forward to collaborating with our municipal partners and the successful proponent to create a shared vision for the future of recreation in our communities.

Road Re-Gravelling Operation Notice

The Township of Lanark Highlands has contracted Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited to haul gravel in support of re-gravelling of the following roads:

• Waddle Creek Road - from 2nd Concession Dalhousie to French Line Road;
• Umpherson Mill Road - from Horne Lake Road to South Lavant Road;
• 1st Concession B Dalhousie - from Watsons Corners Road to end; and,
• Larocque Road - from Highway 511 to end.

The proposed work includes (but is not limited to) hauling of aggregate materials to roadways utilizing bottom-dump triaxles, grading operations, water trucks and pneumatic rollers. Calcium chloride will be placed on all newly regravelled roads shortly thereafter. It is anticipated that construction will begin on June 8th, 2026, and will extend until at least June 25th, 2026. All operations are weather dependent.
The proposed construction has the potential to have temporary impacts on local traffic, which will be managed using MTO Book 7 traffic control procedures. The Contractor is obligated to provide residents with access to their properties during construction, although there may be temporary limitations and delays. The Township will reinstate any disturbed areas within the Township-owned Right-of-Way.
The Township and Cavanagh will make every reasonable effort to minimize all disturbances throughout construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the numbers listed below.
