A sincere thank you to Lake Pleasant Campground in Springfield, NS for welcoming the tradespeople of 143 Construction Engineering Flight to assist with Spring Maintenance tasks at the campground!

Operated by PSP within the Department of National Defence, Lake Pleasant Campground is a great place for military members, families, and the public to enjoy the outdoors and unwind during the camping season.

These opportunities allow our members to maintain and apply their trade skills while supporting facilities that benefit the wider CAF community.

The work also helps keep our trades operationally ready for future domestic and international tasks.

Thank you again for having us — we were proud to help out!

Un sincère merci au terrain de camping Lake Pleasant à Springfield, en Nouvelle-Écosse, d’avoir accueilli les membres des métiers du 143e Détachement du Génie Construction afin d’aider aux travaux d’entretien du printemps au camping!

Administré par les PSP au sein du ministère de la Défense nationale, le terrain de camping Lake Pleasant est un endroit formidable où les militaires, leurs familles et le public peuvent profiter du plein air et se détendre pendant la saison de camping.

Ces occasions permettent à nos membres de maintenir et d’appliquer leurs compétences professionnelles tout en soutenant des installations qui bénéficient à l’ensemble de la communauté des FAC.

Ce travail contribue également à garder nos métiers prêts à appuyer de futures opérations au pays et à l’étranger.

Merci encore de nous avoir accueillis — nous étions fiers de pouvoir donner un coup de main!

Today, members of 143 Construction Engineering Flight took part in PT led by CFB Aldershot PSP Coordinator Gavin Osmond.

A big thank you to Gavin for sharing his expertise in dynamic and static movement, injury prevention, and self-motivation while pushing the team through a challenging and rewarding workout. 💪

The positive, morale-boosting atmosphere encouraged by PSP is always appreciated and serves as a great reminder of the importance of maintaining both our physical and mental health.

As the construction season picks up, staying healthy and resilient helps ensure our members remain ready to support operations, our trades, and our communities whenever called upon.

Great work by all involved!

Aujourd’hui, les membres du 143e Escadron du génie construction ont participé à une séance d’entraînement physique dirigée par le coordonnateur PSP de la BFC Aldershot, Gavin Osmond.

Un grand merci à Gavin d’avoir partagé son expertise en mouvements dynamiques et statiques, en prévention des blessures et en motivation personnelle, tout en poussant l’équipe à travers un entraînement exigeant et enrichissant. 💪

L’atmosphère positive et motivante encouragée par les PSP est toujours grandement appréciée et rappelle l’importance de maintenir une bonne santé physique et mentale.

🏃‍♂️✈️ 2026 RCAF Run ✈️🏃‍♀️

This morning, 18 members from 14 CES and 143 CEF proudly took part in the 2026 RCAF Run by tackling the Bull Run Trail from Indian Garden Farms to Blarney Stone Restaurant.

With fantastic weather, high morale, and plenty of team spirit, the run was a great opportunity to promote fitness, camaraderie, and pride in being part of the Royal Canadian Air Force community.

Events like the RCAF Run are a reminder that physical fitness and teamwork continue to play an important role in operational readiness and unit culture — and today was a perfect example of both.

🏃‍♂️✈️ Course de l’ARC 2026 ✈️🏃‍♀️

Ce matin, 18 membres du 14 CES et du 143 CEF ont fièrement participé à la Course de l’ARC 2026 en parcourant le sentier Bull Run, d’Indian Garden Farms jusqu’au restaurant Blarney Stone.

Avec une météo fantastique, un moral élevé et un excellent esprit d’équipe, cette activité a été une belle occasion de promouvoir la condition physique, la camaraderie et la fierté de faire partie de la communauté de l’Aviation royale canadienne.

Des événements comme la Course de l’ARC rappellent que la forme physique et le travail d’équipe demeurent essentiels à l’état de préparation opérationnelle et à la culture d’unité — et aujourd’hui en était un excellent exemple.

Bravo à tous les participants! 👏💪

🔧 Thank You to Milwaukee Tool North America for Visiting 143 CEF 🔧

Tonight, 143 Construction Engineering Flight welcomed representatives from Milwaukee Tool during our weekly training night after their showcase earlier today Fastening House Atlantic in Hebbville.

Connecting with construction suppliers and industry professionals helps our team stay current with evolving tools, equipment, and safety practices while preparing for upcoming community projects across the South Shore.

Having access to quality equipment, training, and hands-on demonstrations helps ensure our members can work safely, confidently, and efficiently both in training and on project sites.

We appreciate organizations that continue to support Canadian workers, tradespeople, and local communities here in Nova Scotia.

Ce soir, le 143 Construction Engineering Flight a accueilli des représentants de Milwaukee Tool durant notre soirée d’instruction hebdomadaire, après leur présentation plus tôt aujourd’hui chez Fastening House à Hebbville.

Le fait de collaborer avec des fournisseurs de construction et des professionnels de l’industrie aide notre équipe à demeurer à jour concernant les outils, l’équipement et les pratiques de sécurité en constante évolution, tout en nous préparant pour nos projets communautaires à venir sur la South Shore.

L’accès à de l’équipement de qualité, à de la formation et à des démonstrations pratiques permet à nos membres de travailler de façon sécuritaire, efficace et avec confiance, autant durant l’instruction que sur les chantiers.

🎉 123rd Anniversary of the Canadian Military Engineers 🎉

Today, we proudly celebrate 123 years of the Canadian Military Engineers (CME)—a legacy built on skill, resilience, and unwavering dedication.

143 CEF marked the occasion with a day that truly reflected the spirit of the Engineers:

We kicked things off with some friendly competition on the pickleball courts, followed by a classic BBQ back in our bay garage at the unit—good food, great company, and plenty of laughs. The day wrapped up with our MCpl PH Tech joined by the 14 CES CO & SMWO having the honour of cutting the anniversary cake.

From building and maintaining critical infrastructure to supporting operations at home and abroad, the CME continues to embody excellence and teamwork in everything we do.

To all past and present members of the Canadian Military Engineers—thank you for your service, your skill, and your commitment.

Aujourd’hui, nous célébrons fièrement 123 ans du Génie militaire canadien (GMC) — un héritage fondé sur le savoir-faire, la résilience et un dévouement indéfectible.

Le 143 CEF a souligné l’occasion avec une journée qui reflétait parfaitement l’esprit des sapeurs :

Nous avons commencé avec une compétition amicale de pickleball, suivie d’un BBQ classique dans notre baie de garage à l’unité — bonne nourriture, excellente compagnie et beaucoup de rires.

La journée s’est terminée en beauté avec notre MCpl PH Tech suivant par le 14 CES CO & SMWO qui a eu l’honneur de couper le gâteau d’anniversaire.

De la construction et de l’entretien d’infrastructures essentielles au soutien des opérations au pays et à l’étranger, le GMC continue d’incarner l’excellence et le travail d’équipe dans tout ce qu’il entreprend.

143 Construction Engineering Flight is proud to support this year’s Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign in support of Bridgewater Elementary School.

From April 28 to May 4, every Smile Cookie purchased helps raise funds to improve and modernize playground spaces for local students—creating a more inclusive and accessible environment for children in our community.

As a unit rooted in Bridgewater, we’re always proud to give back and support initiatives that directly impact local families.

Whether it’s grabbing a cookie, spreading the word, or encouraging others to participate—every little bit helps.

La 143e Escadre du génie construction est fière de soutenir la Tim Hortons campagne du Biscuit sourire cette année au profit de Bridgewater Elementary School.

Du 28 avril au 4 mai, chaque biscuit sourire acheté contribue à amasser des fonds pour améliorer et moderniser les espaces de jeux de l’école, afin de créer un environnement plus inclusif et accessible pour les enfants de notre communauté.

In 2007, members of 143 Construction Engineering Flight played a key role in the construction of the Citizens Bandstand at Shipyards Landing right here in Bridgewater.

Opened on June 9, 2007, this waterfront landmark has since become a hub for community events, live music, and local gatherings — a place where memories continue to be made.

As we approach nearly 20 years since its grand opening, we’re proud to reflect on the lasting impact of our work in the community. Projects like this highlight the important connection between the Canadian Armed Forces and the communities we serve.

Next time you’re down at the waterfront, take a moment to appreciate a piece of local history built with pride by your 143 CEF team.

En 2007, des membres du 143e Détachement du génie construction ont joué un rôle clé dans la construction du kiosque à musique des citoyens à Shipyards Landing, ici même à Bridgewater.

Inauguré le 9 juin 2007, ce site emblématique du bord de l’eau est depuis devenu un lieu central pour les événements communautaires, la musique en direct et les rassemblements locaux — un endroit où de nombreux souvenirs continuent d’être créés.

Alors que nous approchons des 20 ans de son ouverture officielle, nous sommes fiers de réfléchir à l’impact durable de notre travail au sein de la communauté. Des projets comme celui-ci mettent en valeur le lien important entre les Forces armées canadiennes et les communautés que nous servons.

La prochaine fois que vous serez au bord de l’eau, prenez un moment pour apprécier un élément de l’histoire locale construit avec fierté par votre équipe du 143 CEF.

Rotary Lunenburg as of every year spent another generation of grade 3 students in Elementary School New Germany dictionaries. President Donald Gray overhanded the books in person and we received a big thank you letter written by the principal of that school.

Dear Mr. Gray,
On behalf of everyone at New Germany Elementary School, I would like to sincerely thank you and the Rotary Club for your generous donation of dictionaries to our Grade 3 students.
Your visit to our school made the experience even more meaningful. The students were excited and proud to receive their very own dictionaries, and this thoughtful gift will support their literacy development for years to come. Opportunities like this help foster independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
We are truly grateful for the Rotary Club’s continued commitment to education and to our community. Thank you for investing in our students and for taking the time to connect with them in person.

🇨🇦 Vimy Ridge Day – April 9

Members of 14 CES, 143 CEF, the Bridgewater Legion, along with students and staff from Bridgewater Junior High, gathered today at Veterans Memorial Park in Bridgewater to commemorate Vimy Ridge Day.

Together, we honoured the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of those who fought at Vimy Ridge in 1917 — a defining moment in Canada’s history.

It was especially meaningful to stand alongside the next generation, ensuring that the stories and significance of this day continue to be remembered.

🇨🇦 Jour de la crête de Vimy – 9 avril

Des membres du 14 CES, du 143 CEF, de la Légion de Bridgewater, ainsi que des élèves et du personnel de la Bridgewater Junior High, se sont réunis aujourd’hui au parc commémoratif des anciens combattants de Bridgewater afin de souligner le Jour de la crête de Vimy.

Ensemble, nous avons rendu hommage au courage, au sacrifice et à l’héritage durable de ceux qui ont combattu à la crête de Vimy en 1917 — un moment déterminant de l’histoire du Canada.

Il était particulièrement significatif de se tenir aux côtés de la prochaine génération, afin d’assurer que les histoires et l’importance de cette journée continuent d’être transmises.

N’oublions jamais.
