𝟭𝟱.𝟳% 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁!!!

👉 According to the City's analysis, if the Port Tax Cap was removed, it would only be a 5.7% tax increase.

👉 Adding salt in the wound, the cost of the Port Authority cutting their Payment-in-Lieu-of-Taxes (PILT) is more than $900,000, adding another 4.3% tax increase.

Last week, BC Assessment revealed that the average house in Prince Rupert has gone up in value by 14% since last year.

Yet the assessments for the four most valuable properties on Ridley Island collectively only went up 1.4%.

What this means is when property tax bills arrive later this year, Prince Rupert homeowners will again be forced to disproportionately bear more tax burden when compared to port industry.
