Today we celebrate the incredible women who make a difference every single day. 🌎💪

On this International Women’s Day, the Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association wants to recognize and thank all the women around the world — especially the women who help keep our organization moving forward and the many women serving in the first responder community.

From volunteer firefighters, instructors, and officers, to dispatchers, EMS, support staff, and the countless women working behind the scenes — your dedication, leadership, and commitment to your communities does not go unnoticed.

You continue to break barriers, inspire the next generation, and strengthen the fire service and emergency response community across Saskatchewan and beyond.

To the women who train, respond, lead, support, and serve — today we celebrate you. 🚒🔥

Thank you for everything you do.

Its that time of year again. We look forward to seeing everyone at sports on tap once again.

❄️ EXTREME COLD WARNING – HUMBOLDT ❄️

Temperatures in Humboldt are dropping to dangerously cold levels, with extreme wind chill values expected over the coming days. These conditions can cause frostbite in minutes and turn minor problems into life-threatening emergencies.

Remember:

• Dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin
• Keep space heaters away from combustibles and never leave them unattended
• Check that furnace and exhaust vents are clear of snow and ice
• Never use BBQs or fuel heaters indoors

đźš— Travel Safety in Extreme Cold
• Avoid unnecessary travel during extreme cold
• Keep your fuel tank at least half full
• Carry a winter survival kit (blankets, extra clothing, food, water, phone charger)
• Let someone know your route and expected arrival time
• If stranded, stay with your vehicle and call for help

🚨 Remember: Emergency response times can be longer in extreme cold due to weather and road conditions. Taking a few extra precautions can prevent an emergency before it happens.

Please check on neighbours, especially seniors and vulnerable residents. If you must be outside or on the road—slow down, plan ahead, and stay safe.
