🚨 Slow Down and Move Over 🚨

National Slow Down Move Over Day is coming soon, and we want to remind everyone how important it is to pay attention when you see emergency lights on the road.

Police officers, ambulance workers, firefighters, tow truck drivers, and community members on the roadside all deserve to return home safely to their families.

When you see emergency vehicles stopped on the side of the road, please slow down and move over when it is safe to do so. In our northern communities, roads can be difficult and visibility can change fast, so taking a few extra seconds can make a big difference.

This is not only about the law, it is about respect, safety, and protecting one another.

From the Naskapi Police, thank you to everyone who helps keep our roads and our community safe.

Today, May 5, we take a moment to recognize Red Dress Day for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

We stand with the families and the community. We remember the ones who are missing and the ones we lost.

This is something that is still happening, and we all need to stay aware and support each other.

Please Tie Your Dog

We are asking all dog owners to please tie your dogs and keep them under control.

There are still dogs running loose in the community, and it’s becoming a safety issue for everyone.

Make sure your dog stays on your property and doesn’t roam around.

Thank you for your cooperation.
