I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in the democratic process by casting their votes, whether during advance polling or at the polls today. Your engagement is the cornerstone of our community’s strength and future.
I also wish to express my sincere appreciation to the dedicated poll workers who are diligently tabulating the results as I write this. Your tireless efforts ensure the integrity of our electoral process, and none of this would be possible without your commitment.

A few months ago some local farmers came to me and explained that the design of the McKenzie roundabout east of McKenzie overpass on Twp road 374 was difficult to navigate with farm equipment.
I passed on their concern to operations and a meeting happened where the farmers were able to explain the issues directly with the engineers and staff.

A solution was found and today that solution is being implemented to make the roundabout farm equipment friendly.

This change is also being considered for future intersections when they come forward to ensure farmers are able to navigate equipment through intersection safely.

With just over one week until Alberta’s municipal elections on October 20, 2025, Red Deer County voters have the opportunity to choose from a strong field of candidates across the six Divisions. The diversity of perspectives among these candidates promises a robust and effective Council to lead our community forward.
I encourage all residents to research the candidates’ views and priorities to make an informed decision at the polls. Your vote is critical in shaping the future of Red Deer County.

Reflecting on past elections, we’ve navigated challenges like a federal election overlapping with our municipal vote and the complexities of a pandemic. This year, despite disruptions such as the Canada Post strike and the teachers’ strike, our community remains resilient.

On a personal note, I’m proud to see my children actively participating in my campaign, gaining firsthand insights into civic engagement and the democratic process. Their involvement underscores the importance of community leadership and inspires me daily.
Together, let’s ensure Red Deer County continues to thrive by electing a Council that reflects our shared values and vision.
