City of Richmond Hill residents are invited to participate in a variety of no cost, barrier-free events to discover artists, creators, historians, architects, curators and designers in the local community.
Culture Days is a three-week celebration that runs from September 22 through October 15, bringing the diversity, culture and spirit of our community to life.
• 2023 Art Walk and Studio Tour
September 23, 10 am - 4 pm
Explore art exhibits both indoors and outdoors at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts (RHCPA) as well as six different artist studios across the City. Numerous art disciplines and mediums will be on display.
• Visual Art Gallery Exhibitions – September and October
Experience a preview of artwork that will be displayed at this year’s ArtWalk by artists and artisans throughout September. In October, view local artist Kate Greenway’s exhibit, featuring mixed media of watercolour and glass.
Located in the main lobby of the RHCPA, 10 am to 4 pm

• Richmond Hill Public Library Culture Days Hub
Drop by the Central Library for a whirlwind of music, dance and visual arts. Try your hand at basket weaving or Taiwanese paper art, sing with a choir or polish your Bollywood dance skills. View the complete list of events at rhpl.ca/culture-days
• Explore Old Richmond Hill – Open all hours
Take advantage of the City’s Museum of the Streets with a free self-guided tour of some of our community’s most interesting heritage sites. You can choose how many stops you visit and how much time you spend at each one.
- RH50 Murals Self-Guided Walking Tour
Visit 13 mural sites across the City at your leisure in celebration of Richmond Hill’s 150th anniversary. Murals include a large piece at the Richmond Green Sports Centre as well as Bell Boxes and City Park Storage Bunkers across all six wards.
- Tour a National Historic Site – September and October
Drop by the Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory, the City’s very own national historic site, for a self-guided tour of the Administration Building and the Observatory Dome from 1-5 pm, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Visit the Galleries
Take in the new galleries and exhibits at the Heritage Centre, showcasing the rich heritage and history of Richmond Hill.
Open Tuesdays 1-4 pm, Thursdays 4-8 pm and Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm
Culture Days is celebrated in hundreds of cities and towns across Canada. Explore and discover culture locally through visual arts, music, dance, theatre, architecture, heritage, film and video, literature, culinary arts and new media.
