Good afternoon, West Elgin!

I wanted to share a great local initiative from Casey, founder of Do Good Things Co.

Casey volunteers her time to this wonderful initiative, helping provide clothing to those in need. It’s also a free clothing swap, giving gently used clothing a chance to find a new home.

If you have clean, gently used clothing that you no longer need, consider donating it to help someone in our community. Casey is also accepting monetary donations to help support the initiative.

A great local example of people helping people and doing good things in our community. 💙

Thank you, Casey, for volunteering your time and making a difference.

Do Good Things Co. is at Miller Park in West Lorne today until 2:00 p.m. They’ll also be in Newbury next week. See the photo for the schedule and times.

Our EDC Committee is hosting another Business After 5 event — “Pitch the Pitch”!

The West Elgin Economic Development Committee invites local business owners and entrepreneurs to our Business After 5 event "Pitch the Pitch". 🗣️

We have two events in one evening:
📌 Join us on Monday, October 5th at 6P - 7P as Jennifer Grigg with the Elgin Business Retention Centre will lead a workshop on how to develop a business plan and application for the upcoming "The Pitch" Competition.

📌 Join us at 7P for a " Business after 5" social networking opportunities with local business owners.

THANK YOU to Municipality of West Elgin for its recent support of Four Counties Health Services Foundation (FCHSF)!

Through the municipality’s Community Grant Program, $3,500 was donated toward a VC 150 Vital Signs Monitor for FCHS hospital. 👏👏👏

Vital signs monitors play an important role in evaluating and treating patients as they provide real-time data on essential physiological functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature.

We appreciate the dedication of our Four Counties communities to ensure that critical equipment needs like this are met, thus contributing to exceptional care, close to home.

Earlier this month, we attended the Association of Municipalities of Ontario - AMO Conference in Ottawa.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to attend seminars, continue learning and growing, and create meaningful connections with other municipal leaders and members from across Ontario.

Some exciting provincial & federal funding opportunities were announced, and many great ideas were shared. It was also great to see and speak with MPP Rob Flack again.

Always a valuable experience bringing ideas back home to West Elgin and continuing to learn how we can build a stronger community together.

I’m happy to announce that my motion to bring back ball-field fencing at Miller Park is fully moving forward!

I want to thank Council and our municipal staff for their hard work and support throughout this process.

Bringing baseball back home means more than just having a place to play. It can bring more people into our community, support local businesses, and create additional tourism and economic activity in West Elgin.

It’s about investing in our community, giving our residents a place to play and come together, and creating opportunities to showcase West Elgin to visiting teams, families, and spectators.

I’m excited to see more life brought back to Miller Park and to see our teams once again play at home, bring families together, and support local.

We are bringing baseball back home and keep building a stronger, more active West Elgin. ⚾
