A big thank to you Premier Susan Holt for taking the time to tour a Cooke Inc. state-of-the-art hatchery, ocean farm and processing facility in Charlotte County, NB. We appreciate New Brunswick’s continued support for Atlantic Canada’s finfish sector that employs over 9,400 people, generates $3.2 billion in total economic output and produces 356 million meals annually. Every salmon raised here means more jobs, more local food, stronger coastal communities and greater control over Canada’s food supply. Cooke Inc.

What a great day on the Bay of Fundy visiting one of Cooke Inc.’s beautiful salmon farms and then their state-of-the-art processing facility!

Thank you to MP Ernie Klassen, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans for taking the time to learn about Atlantic Canada’s finfish farming sector.

There’s no substitute for seeing our sector firsthand and meeting the people behind the science, innovation and care that go into raising healthy, sustainable Atlantic salmon while supporting jobs and coastal communities.

Salmon are returning to our rivers! Apetji petaatig plamoog! 🐟

Our first salmon of the season arrived on June 26, just days after the water blessing ceremony on June 21.

Throughout the summer and fall, the Resource Conservation team tracks salmon returning to the Point Wolfe and Upper Salmon rivers using specialized antennas. Each fish carries a unique ID, allowing us to follow its journey.

So far, 26 salmon have returned! Last year, 101 salmon made their way back to the park’s rivers.

Atlantic salmon and potatoes! What a great combo! We had a blast this week at the Outdoor Summer Market during the French Fry Festival in Florenceville - Bristol. ACFFA Community Outreach and Education Coordinator Katie Harris will be on the road this summer at events and fairs across the province.
