Tansi! I'm Lisa George, asking for your support in Zagime's upcoming election. In the weeks since accepting my nomination, I've listened to both on and off reserve band members. I hear you, your concerns are absolutely valid. Here are some issues that are important and I believe, can absolutely be addressed, semak:
๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: Establish reliable transportation networks to help residents access essential services, community events and other important destinations, with a focus on the shut-ins &/or members without vehicles or licenses. I'm aware that Health provides rides to clients, but not everyone is eligible to utilize their services. A network like this could also help Health staff to focus on clients. Similar networks can be established in urban areas too.
๐๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ: For the most part, our cemeteries are overgrown and neglected, which is a disrespect to our loved ones. We need to prioritize the proper upkeep and maintenance of our cemeteries. Ensure that our ancestors laid to rest are treated with dignity and the respect they deserve.
๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐: Explore options for peacekeeping services & solutions. Our vulnerable members, elders & overall membership deserve to live in a peaceful environment. Having some level of peacekeepers presence & support (even on a part-time basis) would be a huge step to providing well-being and security for our Nation.
๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ: Uphold the integrity of our Nation by implementing drug testing for all Leadership and Administrative Staff, ensuring our leaders are accountable, trustworthy and able to make key decisions with a clear mind. Substance abuse compromises decision making and undermines the trust of our Nation. It's essential that our leaders prioritize Zagime's well-being over personal interests.
๐๐ง๐ก๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: Ensure fairness and transparency in housing allocation by allowing the Housing Department to operate independently while following policy, without influence and blatant favoritism. Finding a better balance in homes/occupants ratio, would be beneficial to membership and quite possibly be cost-effective.
In all honesty, it's unacceptable that these concerns exist. I'm confident that effective solutions can be found & implemented.
If elected, I'd be honored to help make these changes because I care about our Nation. I have family & friends within our membership: both on & off reserve.
