If you truly love someone, you love them twice. Once for who they appear to be. And once again, more deeply, for who they really are. The first love is easy. Their smile, their charm, the way they make you feel. Then the layers come off. You see the mess, the moods, the history, the differences. And if you can still love them there, raw and unfiltered, without needing to fix or change them, that is not infatuation. That is understanding. The kind of love that stays. The kind that grows.
