We had a great time on Thursday welcoming Ontario’s Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, Raymond Cho, to WSNCC.❤️

Seniors programming at our Centre is one of the things we pride ourselves on at West Scarborough, offering fitness classes, cultural celebrations, congregate dining, wellness workshops, organized trips, and more.

We’re grateful for the Province of Ontario’s continued investment in seniors programming and for helping make multi-service Centres like ours possible.

WSNCC’s Fall Fair is back on Saturday September 19th and this year we’re going bigger, partnering with Toronto Police Service 41 Division’s Police BBQ to make this one our best yet. 🍂❤️

Expect free food, bouncy castles, live music, indigenous performances, interactive arts workshops and so much more.

This summer, we were proud to host youth ambassadors through the FIFA Youth Ambassador Program, funded by the City of Toronto. 🌍⚽❤️

The program gives young people the chance to build real skills and gain meaningful work experience through placements at community agencies like ours, where they supported in our summer camp sports programming.

Congratulations to all of our FIFA Youth Ambassadors on completing the program. We loved having you here! 🏆

We were happy to welcome Scarborough Southwest MP Doly Begum to WSNCC last week! ☀️💚

Doly has always shown up for West Scarborough and we’re grateful to have a representative who understands how important programs like Canada Summer Jobs are for communities like ours.

Canada Summer Jobs helps us bring on an incredible team of young staff every summer, giving them meaningful paid work experience while ensuring our campers have dedicated, passionate people in their corner all season long. That support makes a huge impact and it means even more knowing our community has advocates like Doly looking out for us.

Between yoga sessions with The Canadian Courage Project , learning kickboxing basics, a trip to the ROM, taking the field at Rogers Centre, and getting out on the water for sailing and windsurfing, our SKY girls have been busy this summer and we love to see it. ❤️💪

SKY is our all-girls summer camp at WSNCC, a space built specifically for young women to grow, lead, and find their people. Take a look at some of the highlights so far!

Congrats to our Kindergarten Readiness program graduates! 🎓❤️

Earlier this month we celebrated children in our EarlyON programs who completed the Kindergarten Readiness program and are heading into their first years of Kindergarten this September.

This is just one of the many free programs offered through EarlyON at WSNCC; designed to give West Scarborough children the foundation they need before they walk through those school doors for the first time. We’re so proud to be part of the journey for them!

Yesterday our SKY Girls got to take the field at Rogers Centre as part of the Girls at Bat program, funded by Jays Care Foundation.

Over the past three weeks, they’ve been learning baseball at SKY—our all-girls summer camp—with the help of Canadian Training Institute (CTI), and yesterday was their chance to put it all to the test with a day full of baseball themed activations right on the field. ⚾❤️

Thank you to Jays Care for inviting us out and for giving our girls some amazing opportunities!
