Hurray for Market Day!

We can hardly believe that tomorrow is the first day of the summer markets already, but it's here! Open Tuesdays starting June 16, 4pm-7pm at the Sexsmith Curling Rink.

And guess what fruit we're starting with?! Cherries!! 🍒🍒 We'll also have potatoes, carrots, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and more. Dunvegan will have bedding plants and hanging baskets (2 for 1!) and Carnivores with meats from the butcher shop. You'll also find baking like cream pies, sourdough, cookies, and lots more, plus a really great variety of vendors with handcrafted gifts, decor, treats, flowers, clothing, and more.

Markets Buds kid's activities are starting with designing your own market bag! We're excited that Nadiya is back again this year to help out. Join in each week for a new free activity.

Lefty's is in concession with Bulldogs Gourmet Dogs and Koolios rolled ice cream food trucks outside. ATM is onsite, plus many vendors take card payments.

Meet you at the market!

I had a fantastic day at the Sexsmith & District Community Foundation’s 13th Annual Golf Tournament!

I had so much fun participating alongside the most patient team, Daycie Bohning - Sexsmith Town Council, Councillor Stredulinsky, and Mr. Langton from the Sexsmith Elks/ GP Legion- while also doing a little friendly chasing of our other Sexsmith team: Mayor Potter, Councillor Hildebrandt, Mrs. Black, and GP Councillor Jenna Flach!

The Sexsmith & District Community Foundation does such important work supporting local projects, scholarships, and organizations that help make our community stronger. Through its connection with the Northwestern Alberta Foundation, local donations continue to make a lasting impact right here at home.

A huge thank you to the Foundation volunteers for organizing such a great event, the amazing staff at Morningview Park Golf Course for their hospitality and care, and everyone who came out to support this important fundraiser.

And to my team, thanks for your patience, encouragement, and for making it such a fun day on the course! ⛳💙

We are so fortunate to have beautiful nature waiting for us right here at home!

It’s a perfect day to grab an ice-cold treat from Cowbella’s, the Ice Cream Shack, or Crumbs, then carefully pop over the highway to Foster’s Pond for a little local adventure. Say hello to our resident swans and their brand-new cygnets, listen for the birds, and challenge yourself, how many different species can you spot and name?

A simple reminder that sometimes the best way to recharge is to slow down, look around, and enjoy the beauty of where we live. đź’™

As a member of the Community Futures Board, it’s so exciting to support a program that encourages young entrepreneurs to take their first steps toward business ownership. Participants have been growing valuable skills in planning, budgeting, customer service, and giving back to their communities.

Today, these young business owners are putting those lessons into action! Check out the list to find lemonade stands in Sexsmith as well as our surrounding communities. Stop by and support a future entrepreneur!

Good luck to all of our Lemonade Day participants! 🍋💛

It was an absolute privilege to witness these Life Saving Certificates being presented before Council.

The emotion in the room and the stories behind these recognitions gave me goosebumps. Our community is incredibly fortunate to be protected by such a dedicated and professional team who work in strong collaboration with other professionals in our region.

Congratulations to Justin, Ethan, and the entire team on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your service to our community.

Way to go, team!

Lagoon Tour… ✔️
Again I am amazed by the environmental stewardship that Aquatera Utilities Inc. demonstrates, as well as the sustainability and capacity of our local wastewater system.
Thank you Mike and Doug for making our tour so educational and… surprisingly fun?!

What a wonderful day in our community at Chautauqua Day 2026!

I have enjoyed a slow Sunday morning putting together a quick video to remember just a few glimpses from the day. There was so much to see, do, and enjoy, from local displays and activities to the energy and connection all around town.

I was busy having fun myself, so I did not manage to capture photos of everything that was happening, but I hope you enjoy this little snapshot of the day!

A little rain did not slow anyone down. If anything, it made the day feel even more like our community, resilient, welcoming, and full of spirit.

Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, and helped make the day such a success. It is always fills my heart to see our town come together like this!

🎥 Enjoy the video below for a quick look at the highlights!
