Discover Telkwa: Where Rivers Meet

Discover Telkwa: Where Rivers Meet A riverside jewel bursting with charm and hospitality, Telkwa’s warmth embraces visitors from around the globe.

The picturesque, historic Village of Telkwa sits on the traditional territory of the Gitdumden Clan of the Wet’suwet’en people. The Village of Telkwa is located at the confluence of two world-class salmon-bearing rivers, namely the Bulkley River and Telkwa River. Highway 16 travels through the Village, with the Town of Smithers 15 km to the west and the City of Prince George 356 km to the east. Ne

stled in between the mountains and a myriad of lakes and streams, Telkwa’s spectacular rural, natural setting offers easy access to extensive year-round outdoor activities. Local sightseeing and adventure tour operators offer various organized packages from world-class hunting, sport fishing and flight charters. Locals and visitors enjoy hiking, cycling, canoeing, tubing, rafting, kayaking, paddle-boarding and bird watching. The adventures continue in the winter with phenomenal snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, skating, ice-fishing and downhill skiing at neighbouring mountains. To discover a piece of British Columbia's history, stop at the Telkwa Museum, 1620 Highway 16, or the Village office at 1415 Hankin Avenue for more information.

Feature Friday: Paint and Create in the Valley

Painting is about making memories, connecting with others, and giving yourself permission to be creative without fear.

You don’t need any experience to create something you’ll be proud of. Just come ready to relax, try something new, and enjoy the process.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up a paintbrush for the first time, Paint and Create in the Valley is a wonderful way to have fun, get creative, and connect with others right here in the Valley.

Come create something beautiful and, most importantly, have fun!

The countdown is on, Bulkley Valley pickleball players!

As the Two Rivers Outdoor Courts receive their brand-new playing surface and court lines this week, we're one step closer to welcoming everyone for the inaugural Telkwa Pickleball Fun-a-ment, taking place September 5–7 during the 114th Telkwa Kinsmen BBQ.

This exciting event wouldn't be possible without the dedication, passion, and countless volunteer hours of the Bulkley Valley Pickleball Club. Their hard work has helped bring this tournament to life and has been instrumental in growing the sport throughout our region. Thank you for everything you do to build an active, welcoming pickleball community.

We can't wait to celebrate the completion of the courts and see players from across the region come together for an incredible weekend of competition, community, and fun.

Check out the tournament poster for registration details—we'll see you on the courts!

Who remembers the Fourth Street Deli in Telkwa?

A little piece of Telkwa history worth remembering. Established in 1982 by Norah May Harrison, the Fourth Street Deli was a beloved local gathering place, serving up coffee, cakes, buns, and other homemade treats to the community.

For many residents, it was more than just a deli—it was a place to connect, share stories, and enjoy the simple pleasures of small-town life. Do you have a memory of the Fourth Street Deli? Share your stories and photos with us!
