The picturesque, historic Village of Telkwa sits on the traditional territory of the Gitdumden Clan of the Wet’suwet’en people. Locals and visitors enjoy hiking, cycling, canoeing, tubing, rafting, kayaking, paddle-boarding and bird watching. The adventures continue in the winter with phenomenal snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, skating, ice-fishing and downhill skiing at neighbouring mountains. The countdown is on, Bulkley Valley pickleball players!

As the Two Rivers Outdoor Courts receive their brand-new playing surface and court lines this week, we're one step closer to welcoming everyone for the inaugural Telkwa Pickleball Fun-a-ment, taking place September 5–7 during the 114th Telkwa Kinsmen BBQ.

This exciting event wouldn't be possible without the dedication, passion, and countless volunteer hours of the Bulkley Valley Pickleball Club. Their hard work has helped bring this tournament to life and has been instrumental in growing the sport throughout our region. Thank you for everything you do to build an active, welcoming pickleball community.

We can't wait to celebrate the completion of the courts and see players from across the region come together for an incredible weekend of competition, community, and fun.

Discover the Reading Centre
Have you visited Telkwa’s cutest little library?

The Telkwa Reading Centre is a special community gem, offering a welcoming space for book lovers of all ages. We are grateful for the dedicated volunteers who keep this little library alive and continue to create opportunities for connection and learning in our community.

Throughout the year, the Reading Centre hosts a variety of programs and events, including:
• Summer reading program activities
• Monthly book clubs
• Art and craft evenings
• Community gatherings and more

Whether you’re looking for your next great read, joining a community event, or simply stopping in to browse, the Telkwa Reading Centre is a wonderful place to visit. Thank you to all the volunteers who make this space possible!

Who remembers the Fourth Street Deli in Telkwa?

A little piece of Telkwa history worth remembering. Established in 1982 by Norah May Harrison, the Fourth Street Deli was a beloved local gathering place, serving up coffee, cakes, buns, and other homemade treats to the community.
