Excellent shape for a book from 1908.

A great first of my weekly book sale at the Bulkley Valley Brewery. Long, but completely worth it. Got to set up a lot of good books—had a lot of great conversations and met some interesting people.

This is easily one of the standout pieces on my shelf. It is the 1976 Franklin Library limited edition of The Pilgrim’s Progress, and the craftsmanship is just beautiful. The gold detailing and the raised bands on the spine give it such a timeless feel that you just don't get with modern paperbacks.
The story itself is just as enduring. John Bunyan wrote it back in the 1600s—mostly while he was sitting in a jail cell for his preaching. It is the ultimate allegory, following the character Christian as he travels from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. It captures the struggles, doubts, and obstacles of the human experience in a way that still resonates centuries later.
It feels right to read a classic like this in a binding that was built to last.
