Highway Traffic Act Consultations

There is growing concern within the community about the safety risks associated with the increasing use of e-bikes and e-scooters, particularly regarding speed, pedestrian safety, and responsible operation in shared public spaces.

The Provincial Government is now inviting public feedback on potential changes to the Newfoundland and Labrador’s Highway Traffic Act. An online questionnaire can be completed on engageNL website.

The consultation will focus on four areas:
- E-bikes, e-scooters, and other micro-mobility devices
- Car and booster seats for children
- Bicycle safety for children
- Driving schools

On behalf of the Town, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of our local athletes who recently represented Central and competed in their respective sports at the 50th edition of the 2026 Newfoundland Summer Games in Corner Brook.

Your hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and commitment to your sport are a tremendous source of pride for our community. Competing at the Newfoundland Summer Games is an achievement in itself, and we are proud to see local athletes rise to the occasion and showcase their talent on the provincial stage.

We also recognize the coaches, families, volunteers, and supporters who helped these athletes along the way.

Well done, athletes — you have made your community proud!

History in the making! Springdale Braves Cricket! 🎉

We’re proud to celebrate the first-ever cricket team from Springdale to compete in a province-wide tournament at Centennial Field in the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador this past weekend! 🏏

What an incredible milestone for our community and for everyone who helped grow cricket here in Springdale. We’re proud of the team for stepping onto the provincial stage, representing our town, and being part of something special.
