What an incredible turnout at our PLA Fundraiser & Social last night!! The energy in the room showed just how many people are ready to engage, contribute, and help shape the future of our province.

A big thank you to Rob Cerjanec, MPP for Ajax, Lee Fairclough, and Eric Lombardi For OLP for sharing thoughtful insights and practical solutions to the challenges facing Ontario, as part of our Leading Ontario Forward panel conversation. We covered a wide range of issues that matter deeply to people in Niagara and across the province, including affordability, health care, education, climate change, and municipal governance reform among them.

There’s a real sense of renewal building within the Ontario Liberal Party, and our PLA is working hard to further strengthen and contribute to this momentum.

Thank you Rob Cerjanec, MPP for Ajax for leading a roundtable discussion on the issue of amalgamation in Niagara

The St. Catharines PLA believes the following:

-Any talk of municipal governance reform in Niagara must involve real public consultation, not back‑room decisions.

-Decisions of this scale must be evidence‑based, and not driven by political convenience.

Local democracy and community identity must be respected, as it is the foundation of good governance.

Any structural change must have broad public legitimacy; it is up to the people of Niagara to decide how they are represented and who represents them, without the meddling of the Ford government

Records of Government business are and have always been public information! When the Ford Government starts deciding what the people who elected us can and cannot know they fundamentally threaten the democratic system that our country is built on. This prolonged winter break is FINALLY coming to an end next week, when we will bring your voices back to Queen’s Park to demand that the Government operates transparently, and to benefit all Ontarians, not just their donors or themselves. If you cannot handle following the law yourself then you have no business making laws for others.

This is not a smart government. Premier Ford orders employees to work in-person 5 days a week (as opposed to hybrid) but didn’t make sure there is enough space. Meanwhile, our roads are gridlocked and GO Train and transit services are not in good shape.
