Job Title: Assistant to Airport Manager
Location: Stephenville Dymond International Airport (SDIA)
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant to the Airport Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and managing payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. Additionally, the role involves handling incoming calls, responding to customer inquiries, performing data entry, preparing government claims, assisting in managing the Safety Management System (SMS), and maintaining organized filing systems.
Responsibilities:
Process and manage payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Handle incoming calls, take messages, and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
Perform data entry in Simply Accounting (Sage 50 Premium Accounting) for accurate financial record keeping including:
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
Bank reconciliation
Prepare and submit government claims, including GST and HST submissions, adhering to compliance requirements.
Assist in managing the Safety Management System (SMS) and employee training files.
Maintain an organized filing system for payroll, financial, and administrative documents.
Generate regular reports on payroll, financial transactions, and other assigned tasks.
Collaborate with team members and provide support in various administrative tasks.
Additionally, responsibilities may include other tasks as designated by the airport manager and CEO.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in payroll processing and administration is preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Simply Accounting and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Knowledge of government claims and compliance requirements is an asset.
Knowledge of the current union CBA is an asset.
