🚒 Busy Weekend for Our Brigade 🚒

It's been a busy long weekend for our volunteers, responding to a variety of callouts, not only in our community, but around Taranaki also.

A big thank you to our members and their families who give up their time at a moment's notice to help others.
We'd also like to thank the public for their patience and support while crews attended incidents.

Please remember to take care on the roads, check your smoke alarms, and stay safe.

Recently we've received generous donations from Mitre 10 Stratford and Taranaki Young Farmers.

Also, the legends at Sean Puttock builders have made us chocks to play with, while using our rescue gear.
A giant jenga game is a perfect way to practise our handling skills with the heavy tools we use, and get a laugh at training too!

A big thanks goes to these companies who help make it possible for our brigade to purchase new items. Items used to help us train, or to carry on our trucks to help you, our community 💙❤️

🚗MVA TRAINING🚗

Last night's training involved getting hands on with our rescue equipment, and taking the roof off 1 of the donated cars.
A big thanks again to those who gave us these cars! This training can't happen without your help.

Now we've got familiar with our gear and what it can do, next week we put our skills and knowledge to the test with a scenario, in which we will treat like a real situation.

Like most incidents we attend, time is very critical, especially when patients are involved. So the more practise we can get, the better at our job we become.

At last night's brigade meeting we congratulated 3 members reaching new milestones in their firefighting journeys.
Massive congrats to Paul Fleming becoming Stratford Brigades newest SSO (senior station officer.)
Also congrats goes to David Yeo for passing the 4 day pump course he recently attended.
And lastly, we were able to hear the details of Steve Wanden's physical battle at Wellington, getting himself into the Lions Den (second person ever in Taranaki, a pretty big deal!)
Massive efforts from all 3 men, making our Brigade very proud 👏 🥹
