🌿 We are so lucky! 🌿

The Marion Bridge community continues to show up for one another in the most wonderful ways.

A huge shoutout to one of our incredibly generous volunteers who takes time out of their day to mow our lower field — because of their dedication, this beautiful space is usable and enjoyable for everyone in our community! 💚

Have you visited the lower field yet? Or explored our trail? Whether you’re looking for a place to play, walk, or simply enjoy the fresh Cape Breton air, we’d love to see you out here!

Our last drop off for the Clear out for a cause will be Wednesday May 27th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm

Don’t forget you can support us year round by dropping any bottles off to Total recycling on industrial drive in Sydney. Just be sure to let them know your bottles are to go towards Marion Bridge TLC.

It’s raining off and on, so some of us will not be there this evening!
We will aim for two more evening meetings (May 26 and June 2!) before switching gears to our summer meets!

TIPS:

Start your day by wearing bright jacket or t-shirt for visibility. Limited supplies of bright vests are at some of the larger centres.

Bring a water bottle. Water bottles are also available at the pick-up locations.

Arrive at your selected location between 9 am -10 am to pick up supplies.

You may clean up an area of your choosing. Bags and gloves are available. Limited supply of grabber tools are available at some of the larger centres.

If you have any youth in your clean up team, stay away from moving traffic areas.

Do not pick up sharps. Report their location by calling 311. Also report any illegal dumping sites to 311.
We have yellow bags at the pick-up sites. These are for litter clean ups. (Do not use them for household garbage).

Leave filled bags curbside in areas where municipal trucks can easily pick them up: NOT along 100-series highways or on-ramps/off-ramps. These areas are not Solid Waste serviced areas. If you have the ability to do so, like a pick-up truck or trailer, you can transport your bags back to your starting location. Call or email 311 to report the location of your bags.

It’s a Tuesday and the sun is shining! Our TLC in Motion is happening again this evening.

While you’re, there - practice doing a lap or 3 (1KM) or 6(KM) to practice for the Fun Run/Walk.
