Fall is in full swing! The Pas RCMP want to remind residents and visitors planning outdoor activities such as hunting, boating, or riding an ATV/ORV to take a few precautions before heading out.

- Check the weather and make sure you're dressed appropriately.
- Let friends or family know your plans, including where you'll be and when you expect to return.
- Bring a fully charged cell phone or communication device.
- Make sure your vehicle or equipment is in good working condition.
- Pack essential supplies, including water, food, and a basic first aid kit.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet and life jacket where required.

Stay safe, be prepared, and make the most of Manitoba's beautiful fall season!

Speeder on Highway 39 clocked over 180 km/hour

On October 2, 2026, just after 6pm., Snow Lake RCMP were travelling on highway 39, west of Ponton – when they noticed another vehicle travelling at a very high rate of speed.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the officers advised the 24-year-old male driver from The Pas that he was driving at a speed of 186 km/hr. in the 100 km/hr. posted zone.

The driver was given a speeding ticket of $1,176 and issued a Serious Offence Notice (SON) under The Highway Traffic Act.

A SON is more than just a regular speeding ticket.

When a driver is caught travelling at a very high and unsafe speed – their license if automatically reviewed by Manitoba Public Insurance.

Is speeding really worth it?

On May 27, at approximately 10 p.m., RCMP in The Pas responded to a report of gunshots being fired on the 300-block of Ralls Island Road.

Officers subsequently learned four people were inside a vehicle, including a five-year-old child, when a group of suspects – all wearing hoodies – approached and opened fire.

A 34-year-old male was critically injured after being shot multiple times and was transported to hospital, where he survived and recovered from his injuries. A second occupant sustained minor injuries in the shooting, while the two other people inside the vehicle – including the child – were unharmed.

The Manitoba Integrated Law Enforcement Team (MILET), which investigates serious and organized crime activities in the province, assumed responsibility for the investigation on June 1. Investigators believe the shooting is related to the local drug trade in The Pas.

Following a comprehensive investigation, which included multiple search warrants, evidence collection and interviews, officers arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting.

Morgan Blair, 34, was arrested at Brandon Correctional Centre. He is charged with:
• Discharging a fi***rm with intent to wound x4;
• Attempted robbery with fi***rm;
• Possessing a fi***rm contrary to an order of prohibition; and
• Possessing a fi***rm knowing possession is unauthorized.

Tara Kreshewski, 44, of The Pas is charged with attempted robbery with a fi***rm.

The suspects remain in custody.

Further charges are expected. The investigation continues.

The Pas RCMP spot impaired driver, make arrest

On September 14, 2026, at approximately 12:30 am., while conducting patrols, The Pas RCMP observed an SUV travelling west on 3rd street, swerving and driving over the yellow line.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the female driver who was not able to produce a license.

A request was made for Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) and the female struggled to provide a sample and then later refused.

The 19-year-old female was arrested for Operation while impaired and Failure or refusal to comply with demand. Her vehicle was also towed.

She was later released on an Appearance Notice.

The Pas RCMP arrest driver after traffic stop

On September 3, 2026, at 12:24 am., while on patrol, The Pas RCMP initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Cathedral Avenue and Campbell Street.

While officers were speaking with the female driver, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view inside the vehicle.

The driver was arrested, and a subsequent search of the vehicle was executed and additional drug paraphernalia, plus a large sum of Canadian currency was located.

The 45-year-old female from The Pas, has been charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking, and was later released on an Undertaking.
