Significant scuttling of a a huge develoment project at lake Promenade in Etobicoke: it appears the developer dragons can occasionally be slain:

"... the Tribunal answers the issues as follows: the Subject Property is not a Strategic Growth Area; the proposal’s shadow impacts are not adequately limited; the proposal is incompatible with Long Branch; and the applications are not consistent with the PPS, and do not conform with the OP. "

Letter from Councilor Morley's office received July 31:
"I am reaching out on behalf of Councillor Morley to share an update on the development proposal at 2915-2943 Bloor Street West.
The development proposal remains under appeal at the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT). At this week’s meeting, City Council reviewed the City Solicitor’s request for additional direction on how to approach the appeal.
Unfortunately, due to confidentiality limitations imposed by the OLT appeal process, the City cannot share any details of the report provided by the City Solicitor. However, this week, Councillor Morley passed a motion which provided City Staff with the direction to continue attending the OLT in opposition to the development proposal, and to retain third party outside experts, as necessary, to support the City’s position against the appeal.
The public portion of the item is available to read here. Councillor Morley continues to agree with the community and maintain the position that a high-rise building is not appropriate on this site.

Worth the drive over: clean fresh shops and owned by a family right here in Ontario. Let's not send profits on to American billionaires!
