The 11th Annual Bro-Tel Backyard Music Festival kicked off this evening at beautiful Jackfish Lake. Always such a great way to spend time enjoying the sights and sounds.

Had a great day attending the pancake breakfast, parade and lunch at Myrnam Days today. It was great to connect with the community and enjoy some great food.

I had the privilege to attend the Summer Agricultural Tour hosted by Wheatland County. We spent a few days this past week touring some of the agricultural businesses and operations in the area surrounding Strathmore in Wheatland County. We explored the theme, when innovation meets tradition and it was inspirational to see all the exciting things that are taking place in and around the agricultural industry. We saw demonstrations and heard presentations on livestock management, farm to table food production, sustainable farming practices, environmental stewardship, educating young farmers rooted to agricultural based learning outcomes, sustainability, conservation and much more. A huge thank you to the many farms, businesses and families who were gracious enough to host us and share their passion with us, and a big kudos to the team at Wheatland County who put in a ton of work and planning to plan all the details and make for an excellent experience. Excited to see what county will host next year, and see what new things I can see and learn more about.

It was a real honour today to spend the day worshipping with the congregation and celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the church building at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Parish of Plain Lake.

I was impressed to learn about how far some people came (Ontario, Calgary, Edmonton and many places in between) in order to be part of this celebration. The dedication to travel here today is a testimony to the importance of this church and the place it holds in the hearts of so many.

As a representative of the County of Two Hills I was glad for the chance to recognize and celebrate the history, tradition , faith and faithfulness of the community at Plain Lake Parish.

Congratulations to the Parrish and to the community on such a rich history.
