Palliative approaches is a program of research led by Kelli Stajduhar out of the University of Victoria. The research we do is community focused and involves collaboration with local, national, and international partners from community, health, social care, and government levels in order to develop tools, programs, and services. The underlying aim of all of the materials developed by the Palliativ

e Approaches team is to improve access to quality care for people facing the end-of-life stage who also experience social and structural inequities like homelessness, poverty, isolation, racism, and stigma. To do this, we work toward expanding common ideas about what a palliative approach means, where it happens, and who provides it.

Congrats to Dr. Kelli Stajduhar from the University of Victoria for receiving the 2022 Barer-Flood prize in Health Services and Policy Research.

Dr. Stajduhar receives this award for her 30 years of dedication working in oncology, palliative care and gerontology.
