We have a stark choice to make tomorrow. Do we want more of the same? More inaction on affordable housing, clean energy and climate change? Or do we want something different?

At the Green Party, we do politics differently. When he came to Whitehorse earlier in the campaign, Jonathan Pedneault, co-leader of the Green Party of Canada, assured me that the Green Party doesn't whip its MPs, as the other parties do.

Elect me to be your Member of Parliament, and I'll be free to be a different voice in Ottawa, free to vote for what's right, free to fully represent Yukoners.

Talking to people in the Lobird trailer park yesterday, it was clear that many want to talk about longer-term issues: affordable housing, clean energy, climate change. It's encouraging that we aren't letting the latest tariff emergency distract us from these important long-term issues.

It was good to stop and see this section of burn on the Klondike Highway on the way to Dawson. The burnt forest is beautiful, but it's a reminder of the challenges ahead as the climate changes. We must not let immediate concerns, such as antics of the administration to the south, distract us from these long-term issues. When you vote, remember that presidents and prime ministers come and go, but climate change is an issue that's not going away.

When Jonathan Pedneault, co-leader of the Green Party of Canada, and I spoke to Dave Blottner at Food Bank Society of the Yukon earlier in the campaign, it was a wake-up call. Increasing numbers of people are needing the Food Bank. We need the territorial and federal governments to step up and fill the shortfall in funding to keep it going. Still, it was good to hear Dave attest that Yukoners and Yukon businesses are among the most generous in Canada!
