We are devastated and heartbroken ๐Ÿ’” to hear of the passing of our dear sister, Alaya McIvor.
Alaya was one of the biggest supporters of Women March Winnipeg and was a valued presence at many of our events. Her dedication, strength, and commitment to truth and justice touched so many lives.

Our deepest condolences ๐Ÿ’ go out to her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her. May you find strength, comfort, and peace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

Your dedication to truth and justice will never be forgotten. Your voice, your spirit, and your legacy will live on in all of us. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Thank you to Dieth Aquino Ed Noel and BAHAGHARI PRIDE MANITOBA INC | แœŠแœ‘แœ„แœ”แœ‘แœ‡แœ’ for including me in this important conversation with the Honourable Rechie Valdez Rechie Valdez, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State.

It was an honour to join BAHAGHARI PRIDE MANITOBA INC | แœŠแœ‘แœ„แœ”แœ‘แœ‡แœ’ in discussing the priorities, challenges, and lived experiences of 2SLGBTQI+ and other marginalized communities. These conversations are essential as we continue to advance equity, inclusion, safety, and human rights for everyone.

Womenโ€™s March Winnipeg stands in solidarity with 2SLGBTQI+ communities and remains committed to advocating for a future where every person can live authentically, safely, and with dignity. We are grateful to Minister Valdez for taking the time to listen, engage, and hear directly from the community.

Together, we will continue to amplify marginalized voices, foster understanding, and build stronger, more inclusive communities ๐ŸŒˆโœŠ๐Ÿ’œ

Today is Red Dress Day : National MMIWG2S+ Awareness Day
We pause to honour and mourn the thousands of Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse people who have been stolen from their families and communities. This crisis is still ongoing and it demands our collective action.

Wear red. Listen. Amplify Indigenous voices. And keep showing up beyond today.

No more stolen sisters. No more stolen relatives.
