TABUK CITYโThe Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP)โKalinga Chapter headed by its Chancellor Atty. Francis Calsiyao, marked its second year of organizing the Criminology Profession Week with a series of competitions and activities spread in the different days of November. This yearโs celebration carried the theme โStrengthening Justice and Security in the Digital Age.โ
PCAPโKalinga, established to unite licensed criminologists and strengthen professional development in the province, once again gathered students and practitioners for monthlong events showcasing skills in law enforcement, discipline, and academic excellence.
At the forefront of the competition was the Kalinga State University College of Criminal Justice Education (KSU CCJE), which delivered strong performances across multiple events.
On November 21, KSU Team A clinched the championship title in the Kata Competition held at the Capitol Grounds, while KSU Team B secured the second runner-up spot. The Quiz Bee, conducted later that day at the KCSTI Compound, saw the KSU delegation participating, though they did not place in the final rankings.
The week concluded with the Marksmanship Competition on November 27 at the Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO) Firing Range. In the Female Individual Category, KSUโs Ruvie Napadawan emerged as champion, while Marie Angelica Santiago finished as first runner-up. In the Male Individual Category, Jejomar Bawer earned first runner-up honors.
KSUโs dominance continued in the Team Relay event, where the universityโs contingentโcomposed of Vince Hill Apatas, Marcelino Pacio, Daven Jones Lumanog, Von Lander Balagso, and Jejomar Bawerโcaptured the championship title.
The strong performances of KSU CCJE highlighted the universityโs commitment to excellence in criminology education and its active participation in PCAPโKalingaโs efforts to promote professional competence and camaraderie within the field.
