One where the economy works for everyone. One where politicians are held accountable to working people, instead of big-money backers. As we grow older, we seek to be in a peaceful and silent place 💞

Greed has poisoned men's souls,
has barricaded the world with hate,
has goose-stepped us into misery
and bloodshed.
We have developed speed,
but we have shut ourselves in.
Machinery that gives abundance
has left us in want.
Our knowledge has made us cynical;
our cleverness, hard and unkind.
We think too much and feel too little.
More than machinery,
we need humanity.
More than cleverness,
we need kindness and gentleness.
Without these qualities,
life will be violent and all will be lost.

Hard to believe this quote is actually 84yrs old! It’s from Charlie Chaplin's speech in the final scene of the 1940 film "The Great Dictator." Greed is still poisoning men’s souls and the world is in desperate need of more kindness and gentleness.

Let’s do our part and shine as brightly as we can and share our love and light.

With love

If people cannot write well, they cannot thing well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

"Those who lack the courage will always find a philosophy to justify it,"

encapsulates the human tendency to rationalize inaction or avoidance of difficult decisions. This idea is deeply rooted in Camus' exploration of existentialism and absurdism, where he often examined the complexities of human existence and the search for meaning. By suggesting that individuals who lack courage often adopt belief systems to justify their inaction, Camus highlights a form of intellectual escapism.

Instead of confronting their fears or challenging situations directly, people may find solace in philosophies that validate their reluctance to act. This rationalization serves as a defense mechanism, allowing them to avoid the discomfort of facing reality. For instance, someone might embrace a deterministic worldview, arguing that their actions are meaningless because everything is preordained, thus excusing their passivity.

Camus' critique is a call for existential responsibility, urging individuals to recognize their freedom and the weight of their choices. In doing so, he challenges us to act courageously, confronting the absurdity of life without resorting to philosophical justifications that diminish our agency. This perspective underscores the importance of authenticity and the courage to live fully, despite the inherent uncertainties and challenges of the human condition.
